In the past, the beach has also been used as a hiking trail. You can hike along the rocky shoreline of the Pacific Ocean and look out at the stunning backdrop of the Pacific Ocean, all while you enjoy the peaceful silence of your campsite. There are also plenty of historical sites in and around the area to keep you occupied during your stay at the campground.

What Can I do In San Onofre State Beach?

One of the most popular things to do at the San Onofre State Beach is boating and surfing. There are two campsites that provide a good place for beginners and experienced swimmers to go to the beach. There are different kinds of waves to surf and the waves get a little deeper as you move closer to the sand. If you are looking for a place to practice your surfing skills, then the Clemente Campgrounds is the perfect place for you.

Where is The Clemente Campgrounds?

The Clemente Campgrounds is just a few miles away from the beach, which means that you can reach San Onofre faster than if you go camping at the San Onofre State Beach itself. There are also some great hiking trails that are located near the campground so you can go trekking, biking, or simply strolling along the beach. The campground itself does not offer much in the way of amenities or dining, but you should find a few restaurants nearby that serve delicious Mexican food.

San Onofre RV Camping is another popular San Onofre camping destination. If you like RV camping, then RV Camping at San Onofre may be just what you are looking for. There are many different campsites at the San Onofre State Beach including a variety of RV types including Class A and Class B RVs. At these campgrounds, you will have everything you need right in front of you including bathrooms and showers. You can even bring your own food into the campground and enjoy a more casual meal. The campgrounds themselves are filled with other campers making San Onofre a nice relaxing and enjoyable place to visit.

If you are looking for a unique camping experience, you might want to consider a camping trip at Crystal Cove State Park. This campground is about two miles from the Crystal Cove Resort and is surrounded by an assortment of different kinds of landscaped and natural terrain. At Crystal Cove you will be able to camp at ground level and experience all the benefits of being at sea surrounded by water. The campground itself offers a playground area for children as well as a boat dock for hikers and RV campers.
